Boracay. That’s the ultimate summer escapade. But my best summer getaway so far happened years ago, way before I had the tendency to fall for hot hunks, and would do anything to be deemed as a beautiful babe in a bikini under the hot glaring sun. (However, that is also something I had quite outgrown too.)
I was barely 15 years old when my mom and I joined a small group in a trip to Europe. For me, that is my hottest and most sizzling summer escapade because I was able to go to several exotic places that up to then were just places in my imagination and books. I was able to go to the Tower London and see the famous beefeaters as they stand without any movement for what seemed like endless hours. We went to a park within the city where I actually thought I am entering another world altogether.
I had pictures with Brad Pitt, the Beatles, and Mel Gibson, but they were all static and silent as they were all made of wax. Aside from that, we went to the Anne Frank Museum in Holland, and an enormous flower garden with all the lovely tulips you can find. We sailed in a gondola, passed under the “Bridge of Sighs,” witnessed how glassblowing is carefully executed, sat on the Spanish steps, watched “Miss Saigon, entered ancient castles and churches, and traveled from one place to another until we have sore feet. Now, almost 10 years after, it almost felt like a dream. I always remembered those times with nostalgia, and I felt like I am being transported back in time, to the age of knights and princesses, and where fairy tales come true.
The trip was just marked with awesome beauty and extreme ecstasy that I would definitely go back if given the chance.
