Guild Wars FAQs

What kind of game is Guild Wars?

Guild Wars is a global online roleplaying game, with over 1,000,000 players worldwide, and the first world-class online game to arrive in the Philippines. Players can engage in cooperative group combat, in single player adventures, or in large head-to-head guild battles. Guild Wars is a mission-based game set in a stunning 3D fantasy world that offers excellent support for guilds. Because the team that developed Guild Wars had experience creating successful online game series such as Warcraft, StarCraft and Diablo, the members used their familiarity with the complex issues surrounding online games to create a game that is both easy to learn and compelling to play long term, and yet does not require players to spend hundreds of hours slogging through the preparation just to get to the fun bits.

For more information, please visit the local Guild Wars website at http://www.guilds.ph or the international website at http://www.guildwars.com

What is the special PLDT myDSL Guild Wars bundle?

PLDT myDSL subscribers may avail of a copy of Guild Wars at the discounted price of just P2500. This will be charged to your monthly phone bill, and you can pick the game up at selected PLDT Business Offices nationwide (click here for a list of Business Offices).

After paying the P2500 fee, there is no additional subscription fee of any kind. There is also no need to buy any pre-paid cards. The game may be played after purchase as much as the player wants, so long as he or she has a DSL connection.

What is this PLDT myDSL Guild Wars installment bundle?

PLDT myDSL subscribers may avail of a special ten-month installment offer. They can pickup the game immediately from selected PLDT Business Offices, and pay only P300 for the next ten months, for a total of P3000. After the ten month period, the game becomes the subscriber's property and he or she may continue playing the game permanently.

If a subscriber disconnects their line before the end of the installment period, he or she must pay the remaining cost of the game.

Is Guild Wars always played online?

Yes. Guild Wars is designed from the ground up to be an online game. This allows maximum security to prevent cheating by other players, so your gaming experience will not be diminished by others. Perhaps most importantly, our online network allows us to stream content to your computer, so you always have the most current version of the game, and play in a world that can change on a continuous basis.

Guild Wars is best played on a PLDT myDSL connection.

Several people in my family (or guild) intend to play Guild Wars. Do we each need to purchase a copy?

Like every other online game, anyone who wants to have a Guild Wars Game Account needs to have his/her own copy of the game. However, for now, PLDT myDSL subscribers may avail of only one copy of the game.
