PROFILE:
Since winning the Peru Open last year, the Asuncions have been on
top of their game! After their first career victory, they pushed
the world #1 pair of Robertson/Emms to the brink at the MVP Cup 2005
and had a match point. Although they didn’t come out on top,
they knew they could compete with the best in the world.
This year, they’ll be facing one of the fastest rising
pairs in mixed doubles, Laybourn/Rytter-Juhl of Denmark.
A recent finals appearance at the Philippine Open and a
victory in Australia will once again mean the Asuncions
will be coming in full of confidence.
