The early 20’s saw the rise of stardom of rap sensation Ja Rule. He initially caught the interest of many when his hardcore rugged thug rap album Venni Vetti Vecci was released in 1999.

Ja Rule’s breakout hit “Holla Holla” ruled the airwaves. But this was just the tip of the iceberg. His follow up album Rule 3:36 saw Ja Rule teaming up with music vixens Christina Millan. Lil’ Mo and Vita. This produced enormous hits such as Between Me and You, I Cry and Put It On Me. These duets established the template for Ja Rule’s next album Pain is Love. And boy does Ja Rule know
how to climb his way to the top! His album Pain In Love featured his sensational duet with Jennifer Lopez. “I’m Real” was so addicting! And as if this wasn’t enough, he added a duet with Ashanti. “Always on time” always ruled the charts. He did a similarly styled interpolation of Stevie Wonder’s “Do I Do” (Livin It Up).

By 2002, Ja Rule alone bought the label Gotti’s Murder, Inc., which eventually helped successive artists from the label to rise to stardom, most notably Ashanti, who collaborated with him in “Down For You”, yet another chart-topping hit.

Ja Rule ventured into another industry… acting, starring in Fast and the Furious in 2001. Late 2003, Ja Rule released The Last Temptation which paired him with Bobby Brown with the song entitled Thug Lovin’ and Ashanti again with the big hit Mesmerize.

This 2005, Ja Rule invades Manila. April 23 is his big show with South Border at the Araneta Coliseum. Ja Rule rules!!!
