Not only is he tagged as one of the country's top acoustic acts but is better known in the industry as Mr. Musikero. He was one of the first local artists featured on PLDT MYMUSIC alongside Nina and Nyoy Volante.

Known for his original compositions that endeared him to both critics and listeners alike, singing cover songs might seem very unlikely of Jimmy, but to him, it's refreshing. People raved about his original songs "Let Me Be The One". "The Man I Was With You" and "Akin Na Lang Sana Siya.

On his latest record aptly entitled "Undercovers", under Sony BMG Music Entertainment, he makes a daring move to do things differently with an album composed entirely of revivals or covers. The album showcases a more daring and secured Jimmy yet still maintaining his signature style of acoustic music - simple, honest, inspired. It also includes "I Believe", a bonus track from the hit Korean movie Sassy Girl.
