Ogie Alcasid consummate balladeer whose songs dart right through the heart.
Spanning a musical career that marks many highlights, he was introduced in 1988
with OctoArts International signing him and from then, he went all the way to
become one of OPM's most consistent hitmakers. His debut album, which included
the song "Nandito Ako", reached an unprecedented support from his listeners and
spawned a number of hits, making it gold in a month's time. This was followed
by a second equally successful effort. With the release of his third and fourth
album, Ogie would solidify his status as a performer both on vinyl and concert.

Bound to be great sources of
hits for him, Ogie achieved countless recognitions and awards with these
records. For three consecutive years, he walked away with Awit Award's major
nomination. In 1993, he was named the Best Performance by a Male Recording
Artist for "Mahal Kita, Walang Iba" from his album "A Step Ahead". The
following year, he took home the same award for "Bakit Ngayon Ka Lang" and in
1995, the Best Produced Record of the Year for "Bakit Ka Lumayo" both songs
from his "On Air" album. In 1997, Ogie once more had a number one song with his
version of the Boyfriend's hit "Salawahan". In 1998, Ogie celebrated his 10th
year in showbiz with the release of his Greatest Hits compilation CD and a
successful concert at the Music Museum. The greatest hits CD soon went Gold
proving Ogie's drawing power even after a decade in the industry. In 1999, Ogie
signed up with MCA Universal and recorded an album of revival and originals
entitled "Now And Then". The album went gold and spawned a hit single entitled
"Kung Mawawala Ka". Ogie won several awards for his efforts, such as Awit
Awards Song of the Year and Best Ballad Recording among others. For the next
two years, Ogie won more awards, most especially for his composition entitled
"Kailangan Ko'y Ikaw". The past year, Ogie has not only become a most sought
after singer and hitmaking composer as well. His new album entitled "A Better
Man", showcases Ogie as a songwriter, since 11 of the 12 cuts are his original
composition. Just this year, two songs from the new album have become huge
hits, "Ikaw Sana" and "Hanggang Ngayon" which he recorded as duet with Ms.
Regine Velasquez. Followed by "OA Sa Hits Live" album which was recorded after
h is successful sold out concert last October 4, 2002 at the Araneta Coliseum.
Last June 8, 2003, he released his latest album under Viva Records entitled
"Mga Kuwento Ng Pag-ibig" and just recently achieved a Gold Record Award for
the same album.
