SAMAR Representative Reynaldo Uy suffered a heart attack Friday and was brought to a hospital in Quezon City, according to information sent to INQ7.net.

He was brought to the Heart Center shortly after 1:00 p.m., it said. His condition is unknown as of posting time.

Uy, a member of the Liberal Party, was among those who signed last year’s impeachment complaint against President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo but did not show up during the voting.

Uy’s partymates, Bukidnon Representative Neric Acosta and Quezon Representative Lorenzo Tañada III, expressed sadness over the incident.

Acosta said he knew that Uy had heart problems but that he was still in shock over what happened.
